I wasn’t going to post this, but … truth be told … I’m a little proud of this pic :)
As promised, here’s another. The strange thing is, until making this, I’d never viewed these pictures side by side. I can’t believe what a difference they show! And this is only a little over three months’ work! Good thing I didn’t listen to the people who said, “You don’t need to lose any more weight—you look normal.”
“Normal” was not the goal.

- Wasn’t born with the resolve to be able to decide one day, “I’m going to kick my ass into shape!”?
- Keeps trying to “eat better,” but it’s been making no difference?
- Has been tempted to fast or to purge … because nothing else seems to work?
- … or simply is tired of the excess fat, and just doesn’t know what to do?
If so, you may feel like you will never lose the weight. But no amount of fat can change the fact that, underneath it all, the real you is skinny.
Inside, you will learn how to:
- Lose serious weight without resorting to soul-sucking and wearisome diets
- Train your body to avoid feeling hungry too soon after eating
- Enjoy exercising, even when it makes you feel like you’re going to die
- Avoid destructive thoughts and habits that lead to eating disorders
- Understand how negative attitudes about fat actually slow your weight loss
- Deal with failure and get back on track
- Make it through cravings, plateaus, and feeling like giving up
- Survive all-you-can-eat buffets
- Handle people who try to hinder your success
- Overcome embarrassment when exercising amongst fit people
- Maintain your weight once you hit your goal
- (and, of course …)
- Adjust to your new life as a skinny person!
Questions answered include:
- What’s more important: diet or exercise?
- What’s the right amount of food? What about fasting? What do I order at a restaurant?
- How do I avoid Starvation Mode?
- How do I lose fat in that one irritating area?
- Should I weigh myself daily?
- Should I go vegetarian?
- Should I just accept my husky body and love it? Marilyn Monroe did … right?
- And a hundred more!
With over 80,000 words of real-world advice on eating, exercise, and healthful habits, this is not merely a diet, a cookbook, a trendy workout, or words of feel-good puffery. It’s a way to find life.

Expert weightloss findings affirm the awesomeness of the tumblr thinspo/fitspo community!
According to this news article:
- Obesity [is] socially contagious … surround yourself as much as possible with people who eat healthfully and exercise regularly, so that their body sizes and their behaviors are what you come to perceive as “healthy” and “normal.” <— hence the amazing number of people who found the tumblr thinspo/fitspo community, saw others doing it, then created their own success stories!
- You can influence your less health-conscious pals with some healthy habits and new size perceptions that can, in time, become more normal for them, too. <— another reason we share our struggles and triumphs—we care about each other!
- Develop an accurate self-perception … know what your body weight should be, what normal weight for someone your age and height looks like. <— hence our constant reblogging and referencing of BMI figures and good height/weight ratios
- Size denial creates weight problems because people in denial aren’t able to start setting appropriate goals to change their behavior. <— why the “fat-acceptance” or “body-positive” movement is doomed from the start
- Balance realistic self-perception with realistic weight-loss goals … women whose ideal body weight was unrealistically thin had a more difficult time maintaining weight than women who had less dramatic weight goals. <— exactly what we constantly counsel each other to avoid
Aside from a few moments when some of us take things too far, the tumblr weightloss/fitness community earns an “A”!
<3
